New Tagline!

16 Mar

Hey folks,

I want some ideas on a new tagline. Currently it is “Catch All News Of Delphia Here” which is fine, but I am not sure it is all that catchy (get it? I am such a dork) Anyway, I wanted to take some suggestions from the people who actually read my stuff. What do you think of when you come here? What do you expect from my posts? Should I do more sketches, less stories? Or less sketches, more stories?

The Kraken’s Wake is a seedy seaside tavern located in the therian city of Shadowmire. (Keep that in mind for your tagline ideas)

Put your ideas for a new tagline in the comments section, and when I have several I will set up a poll. Thanks for your help on this. I want people to keep coming back, so I am always willing to listen to new ideas.

I just expect to learn more about your world, through sketches or stories. Maybe [historian]‘s Scrolls. Most of my history pieces are written by certain historians throughout the world which will actually serve no purpose in the story, but they write the stories.

Thank you, Paul. Probably not a bad idea to have a scribe.

Go with several depending on the purpose and the era. Or perhaps one adventurer that literally travels the world collecting the tales whether from bars or ruins.

I like the balance you have on here with the stories and the art. I come on to see what you’re up to, so don’t follow too much of a formula. Also, I thought of the Kraken’s Wake as a place where wanderer’s come home, in a way. Taglines are hard for those of us who are not catchy marketers.

I really just stop by to see what you’re drawing and read about some of the characters/stories you post here. Maybe, occasionally, give input when it’s asked.I’m not too good at creating taglines or anything though. Maybe, instead of just a sketch, say a story about that sketch(if there is one), how you came up with it, stuff like that. Anyways, keep up the good work!

Thanks, I will continue what I am doing then. The story and motivations behind the characters and sketches is a good idea.

I think you should have more sketches of the world they live in so we as readers can grasps what the setting is really like. Example: I love the orcs, they live dangerously close to the human but they are savages. Are they threats to the humans do the humans have to protect their goods from the orcs? Just I thought.

How about “Bringing Delphia to Life” as if writing something makes it real? Maybe decide who is your main character, and put that person’s sketch and story on your About page. I always do better when I’m following a person, whatever world they are in. Harry Potter is about Harry after all. Tolkein has his Hobbit of the moment. Or you could have “Main Character’s Adventures in Delphia” as a tagline and people could check in on how your main character was doing. You could then write a series of vignettes of your main character meeting the various cool inhabitants, like the vapor jelly. The vapor jelly give me shivers! I like the sketches I’ve read so far.

Very good ideas, thank you for your intelligent take on Delphia. I will be expecting many more ideas as we continue sharing our stories.

“Put your weary feet up and sample some Delphian mead here…”
“Tavern talk from the Lands of Delphia…”
“Ale, fish-stew and gossip, served in abundance, daily…”

Enjoying the view, and the tavern tales, not to mention the ace sketches :)
